Vocational learning
The Drawing Room - Arts & Ceramics Project
Work as part of the team to develop creative and unique artwork, including
canvasses, artwork for printed products, card designs, ceramics and china. Learn
new art skills using different mediums and techniques. Help prepare for selling the
artwork at internal & external shows and retailers. Jobs include pricing, counting
stock, and safely packaging stock. This group is a sociable and relaxing group
that helps individuals to enhance their creativity and express themselves in a
non-verbal way.
The Jewellery Project
Learn skills and techniques to work with different materials such as wire, beads,
clay and textiles to produce individual pieces of jewellery and upcycled craft for
sale at retail outlets both on and off site. This group is a sociable and relaxing
group that helps individuals develop their manual dexterity, bilateral coordination, planning and counting skills, and improve focus.
Ashvale & the Orchard Project - Horticulture Project
Learn and develop your skills to grow organic vegetables and plants, to sell locally
within the centre and at local shows throughout the year. Other opportunities
include helping with the care of the chickens including collecting and selling
eggs, looking after the orchard, preparing for our annual AppleFest event and
labelling and selling apple juice. This group is a sociable and relaxing group that
helps individuals improve their physical and mental health, as well as develop an
appreciation for the natural world and sustainability.
