Newsletter Summer 2025 - Flipbook - Page 2
Welcome from our Chief Executive, Jill Rankin
As we move into the summer months, I’m delighted to share some of the wonderful
developments and celebrations that have shaped life here at St Elizabeth’s over the
past year. Our community continues to grow, thrive, and shine, and I’m incredibly
proud of the progress we are making together.
One of our standout achievements has been the continued growth of our Sixth Form,
which first opened its doors in September. In just a short time, it has gone from
strength to strength, and we are now home to five vibrant classes, each named
after an inspirational figure whose values reflect our own. Seeing our young people
flourish in this new environment has been a real joy.
Across the organisation, our commitment to Equality, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
(EEDI) remains at the heart of everything we do. This year we’ve enjoyed a rich
tapestry of celebrations: a brilliant Christmas across our services, a joyful Eid
gathering, and lessons and topics on the colourful Holi festival. These moments of
togetherness strengthen our understanding of one another and enrich the life of our
whole community. We enjoyed celebrating Holy Week and Easter together, where
reflection, hope and renewal took centre stage.
I am also pleased to share that our children’s homes are now individually registered
with Ofsted, and we have welcomed inspectors into each home over recent months.
I am incredibly proud of both the new regulatory model and of the feedback Ofsted
have given about how we support the children in our care. This is a testament to the
dedication, compassion, and professionalism of our teams, who work tirelessly to
provide the highest standard of care for the children and young people we support.
I would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our long-standing supporters
at O2e (Ordinary to Extraordinary). Their commitment to St Elizabeth’s over many
years has made a tremendous difference. At their cheque presentation evening in
January, they generously awarded us an incredible £38,000 - their highest donation
to us yet. We are deeply grateful for their continued belief in our
work and their extraordinary efforts on behalf of our
community.
As summer approaches, we look forward
to a season filled with activity, warmth,
and opportunity. There is so much
planned across our services, and we are
especially excited to be welcoming new
students and families to St Elizabeth’s.
I’m confident that the months ahead
will bring more growth, connection, and
memorable moments.
