SnackChat Group - a food preparation group which is run jointly with the
Occupational Therapy team. The aim of this group is to promote functional
performance in food preparation tasks, making choices and team working
Care Plans - the development, implementation and review of care plans and
protocols for staff teams to support individuals’ communication and dysphagia
needs
1:1 individual sessions - these are designed around developing the individual’s
skills for communication aid use (both low and high tech), development of
language programmes and ensuring guidance is in place to support a safe and
enjoyable mealtime
Speech & Language therapy provides support with:
Eating, drinking and swallowing assessments
Communication assessment
Articulation programmes
Language development
Alternative and Augmentative communication input
Communication aids assessment and provision
Social communication groups
